3 cases of successful PCNL for large stones done recently
Case no 1
67 year old female presented with longstanding multiple stones in left kidney ; kidney was functioning properly, so PCNL was carried out
She had uneventful recovery and total stone clearance was achieved. No blood transfusion was required and she was discharged on 3rd day.
Case no 2
This was a male patient who had multiple surgeries for stones in the past. This time presented with huge stone burden and it was a real difficult case for PCNL. However Institute of urology has the necessary expertise to deal with such case. Single stage successful PCNL was done and had a stay of 3 days in the hospital
Case no 3
Elderly female had multiple stones and approach to the kidney through the lower pole was difficult. However successful PCNL was done without any difficulty and no blood transfusion was required. She was discharged after 48 hrs.
